The associated aesthetic gestures

Several cosmetic procedures can be associated with rhinoplasty or rhino-septoplasty:

- a nostril reconstruction
- wrinkle filling, particularly of the nasolabial fold, by lipofilling or hyaluronic acid injections
- a genioplasty
- a dermatological skin treatment

a nasal plastic surgery

Nasal plasty may be indicated from the outset in cases of significant cutaneous and cartilaginous hypertrophy of the nostrils, or in cases of marked asymmetry of the openings. It may also be indicated only in a second, much simpler surgical procedure under local anesthesia. This two-stage procedure can reduce the extent of the initial surgery and limit the potential for nasal alteration following rhinoseptoplasty.
Nasal plasty requires a skin incision, but this is made in a crease, and the scars quickly become invisible after a few months.
A slight decrease in airflow is inevitably secondary to this reduction in the nasal opening.

Wrinkle filling

Simultaneous filling of certain facial wrinkles, primarily the nasolabial folds, may be indicated if the patient so desires. In this case, general anesthesia is used to perform an injection of either a non-absorbable product such as hyaluronic acid or to carry out an autologous fat graft using the Coleman lipofilling method . (See the chapters on hyaluronic acid injections and/or fat injections .)

A genioplasty

Rhinoplasty can be performed as an advancement rhinoplasty or as a reduction and refinement rhinoplasty. It must take into account the facial bone structure and the work to be done on the nose. The incision is made inside the mouth, and the incision is closed with absorbable sutures. Reduction rhinoplasty involves muscle reunification and bone reduction surgery, while augmentation rhinoplasty involves advancing the base of the nose or projecting it with a chin implant.

A dermatological skin treatment

Superficial skin lesions such as telangiectasias or superficial angiomas can be treated at the same time by a technique adapted to the lesion in question: laser treatment, radiofrequency, dermabrasion.
