The procedure takes place under general anesthesia and lasts 1 to 2 hours depending on the case.

Hospitalization lasts until two days after the procedure. A dressing covers the operated eye. The operated eyelids are held closed under the dressing with a suture. Two days after the procedure, the surgeon removes the dressing, and the patient can return home. Sutures must be removed by a nurse after 6-7 days. Eye care consisting of vitamin A ointment and artificial tears is prescribed.
